Recently when taking train back from bangalore, I had free time at the station.Suddenly my mind start observing the garbage in and around railway tracks.
All the railway tracks at the bangalore station has piles of garbage all along. Seems like they are never picked up.Its such a sore sight.Tons of garbage and nobody to remove them.Maybe they must have though that garbage gets piled up every day, why to bother and its impossible to clean the mess created by millions of travellers by handful of people.
Once the train started to leave, I started to analyse how far these garbage linup along the track goes.Interesting thing is that the garbage pile up is only upto 10 kms around the city.As u go beyond the city the volume of garbage reduces. The point is keeping 40 kms of track is not a big deal.
But this civic sense should be enforced too.
a). A strict fine of 100 Rs should be immediately charged to anyone seen littering around.
b). Every passenger should be given a medium sized paper-bag for putting the garbage in and they should be told to dump it at stations at getting down.
This country has got lot of genuine problems to look after, the unethical and irresponsible media keeps looking at individuals problem ' ruchika murder/bottom pinching ' rather than bigger social issues which requires immediate attention.
Who will start ' CLEAN INDIA CAMPAIGN ' ?
